That Forsyth County sign-stealing controversy won’t go away

The Cumming Patch has a report on the Forsyth County “sign stealing” controversy.  An investigation is ongoing; no arrests have been made; and yes, the former director of the local Chamber of Commerce, Joni Owens, is right in the middle of it. Read more.

Book signing at Macon Barnes & Noble Aug. 30

Here’s the link to the announcement of my upcoming author event. I’ve scheduled a book signing Thursday, August 30 at 6 p.m. at the Macon Barnes and Noble. This is especially cool because it will be a homecoming for me. Once upon a time, I was a young editor at the Macon Telegraph. I married Judy in the gazebo in Central City Park. It’s a very nice gazebo and has stood the test of time fairly well, as you can see. Anyway, to my Middle Georgia friends: Y’all come see us!

Sign-stealing, gun-waving, nakedness & scrubbed police reports—Southern politics at its best!

I know that David Milrum and Nydia Tisdale are gadflies that a lot of longtime Forsyth County residents love to hate. Still, I’ve got to share this link on  “About Forsyth: Investigating Corruption in Forsyth County, GA” because it gives you a taste of  politics as practiced up there. I’m rating it “R” for Rowdy. Allegations of sign-stealing, gun-waving, nakedness, and scrubbed police reports—Southern politics at its best!  (Whether there’s any connection to good government is another matter entirely.)  I recently received a press release from a political campaign making some of the same assertions, but leave it to the inimitable Nydia Tisdale’s blog to cover it in loving detail. Have at it.

“You don’t want to miss a word.”

Five stars for Brambleman from Liza on Goodreads. Here’s an excerpt from her review: “Another excellent story by Mr. Grant. It took me a while to get through it but it was worth it. The cast of characters were vast. It was two books in one. … I might have finished it sooner if I had an actual eReader instead of my phone lol.” What really got to me was a comment she made on her progress report, when she was on page 109, about a quarter of the way through:  “one of those reads where you don’t want to miss a word.” The great reviews and high ratings keep pouring in. Brambleman’s overall rating on Goodreads is 4.44 right now, with the majority of…
