A look at early voting totals in the 13 Lakeside-Tucker precincts, and what’s ahead

As you may already know, early voting turnout in Georgia’s Sixth District runoff has been phenomenal. Already 143,328 people have voted in this super high-profile race district-wide. Turnout will most likely eclipse the typical midterm November election. In a special election. Amazing. I’ve never seen anything like this. And what a learning experience! We’re going to come out of this battle-hardened. With some absentee ballots still out, we already know that a third of the Lakeside-Tucker area’s  registered voters have cast ballots in the runoff. Proximity to Tucker Rec Center is likely driver for higher EV turnout, with some notable exceptions. I have no clue why Henderson Mill’s EV is so high; Hawthorne Elementary Precinct, the victim of a polling place shift…

Here’s the best way to spread word of free rides to polls

My Ride to Vote is a nonpartisan program that gives voters with transportation issues rides to and from polls using the Uber app. To learn more, visit the website. Everyone should know about this, and getting the word out quickly during the Georgia Sixth District is  crucial, especially since Saturday voting is almost upon us. The best way to spread the word? Persuade apartment managers to do it for you by sending out the digital postcard in an email blast to residents. This means contacting leasing agents/managers in your precinct and making a pitch: You’ll send them an email message they can forward to residents in their complex. If they want to send the digital postcard themselves, that’s fine, but you’ll…

Volunteers needed for Saturday Vote Rally at Northlake Apartments

Vote early! Vote Ossoff! June 10 is DeKalb’s only Saturday for early voting in the Georgia Sixth Congressional Distict runoff, so it’s a special day that needs publicizing. Jon Ossoff needs high voter turnout in DeKalb County to win, so getting out the vote (GOTV) at apartments is crucial. Midvale Road Precinct is solid Ossoff Territory, but we need to boost turnout in the runoff to Flip the Sixth. We can do that by taking to the streets near CityNorth, Atlas of Atlanta, and Providence of Northlake Apartments to remind busy residents to take advantage of the day. We can reach 1,500 voters by waving signs and handing out early voting flyers. Let’s do it! Click the link to download a copy of…

Take it to the streets to flip the Sixth!

Street rallies work, and Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff’s supporters should be holding Vote Early, Vote Ossoff! rallies daily across Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District from now through the end of early voting June 16. And then they should rally June 17-20. Then celebrate the flip! I’ve been staging and participating in street rallies since 2006, in Hank Johnson’s inaugural campaign. Gave away 300 yard signs, worked street corners and polling places. Hank beat Ms. McKinney with nearly 60% of the vote. That was a good day. The positive effect of rallies was on display this week: To kick off early voting, Midvale Road Precinct held three rallies at Northlake Mall, Jon Ossoff attended several events, including a rally near our local early voting…
