Forsyth County gambling operations busted

This isn’t like the old days. Demographics have changed. Six people have been arrested on commercial gambling charges at two Forsyth County, Georgia convenience stores. Three people were arrested at  the Quick Stop Convenience Store, 2383 Canton Highway—Srinivas Varaganti, 44, assistant store manager Prakashbhai Patel, 51, and 38-year-old Maria De Leon—and about $6,500 in cash was seized. In a separate probe, the owner and employees of Country Corner Shell Station at 601 Dahlonega Street, Cumming were arrested after allegedly paying out winnings from video poker machines in cash, alcohol, and lottery tickets. A hate crime against haters?

Police say that a group of “masked radicals” descended on a suburban Chicago restaurant and attacked a meeting of white supremacists, resulting in several injureies and at least five arrests. Apparently the attack was extracurricular to protests during the NATO summit being held in Chicago. Read more.

White supremacist gets 40 years in Arizona bombing

From the Arizona Republic (azcentral.com): A federal court judge on Tuesday imposed a 40-year sentence on a White  supremacist who was behind a 2004 bombing that seriously injured Scottsdale’s  diversity director. A jury found Dennis Mahon, 61, guilty in February of conspiracy to damage  buildings and property by means of explosives, malicious damage of a building by  means of explosives, and distribution of information related to explosives.
