Georgia Rep. Vernon Jones couldn’t even last until the Democratic Primary. Now he’s speaking at the GOP Convention.

Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Donald Trump-loving State Rep. Vernon Jones is scheduled to speak tonight at the Republican convention. Apparently, he’s the only Georgian to take a microphone. But how much do Republicans know about the man? What do they care? Feel the Vern! MAGA! The timing of Jones’s endorsement of Trump, coming before the Democratic primary, was interesting. What it did was allow him to step onto the GOP stage before the Democratic door hit him on  his way out. And the door was about to slam hard. Although recent media coverage hasn’t mentioned it, Jones faced disqualification from the Democratic Primary ballot. Jones had been running for re-election to House District 91 in DeKalb and Rockdale counties when a DeKalb voter…

Vernon Jones isn’t happy with my coverage of him. Here’s some more.

If he isn’t eligible to run in District 91, how can he keep his House seat? Did Jones duck the issue when he quit the race? Jonathan Grant @Brambleman So this happened. I just got a comment on most recent post about Rep. Vernon Jones from the man himself. In the comment section of “Man overboard! In midst of residence challenge, Georgia Rep. Vernon Jones jumps to Trump,“ Jones wrote: To the author of this fake news, there are So many errors in your story. It’s called reckless journalism. For example, (c)all Robin McDonald and ask if my Buckhead address was in DeKalb or Fulton county? Unless you are not to lazy to check for yourself! You are just part of…

Update: Trump backers denounce Deep State conspiracy after rally buses cancelled for nonpayment

UPDATE: Trump supporters denounce Deep State Conspiracy after “Women for America First” DC rally buses (including one from Atlanta) cancelled for nonpayment.  From The Daily Beast: A couple hundred Donald Trump fans rallied outside Congress on Thursday for the “March for Trump,” an event meant to oppose House Democrats’ impeachment investigation. According to organizers, though, there would have been hundreds more people shouting “stop the coup” in Washington’s streets if not for a liberal plot against their buses. That’s because, as would-be rally attendees gathered across the East Coast for the US Coachways buses that the organizer had promised would take them to Washington, those buses never showed. The no-shows provoked a wave of anger, accusations that the “deep state” had colluded to…

Sign up here Update: I irritate some Trumpers during the rally face-off By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman About 100 Pro-Trump protesters showed up last week at Rep. Lucy McBath’s district office to call for the end of the impeachment inquiry. The MAGA crowd is angry at McBath for voting to move the the process along. She’s said she’ll make a decision based on the evidence. Meanwhile, evidence of the president’s corruption piles up, with more testimony coming this week that President Trump’s aides see as “problematic.”  There will be more evidence, with or without obstruction.…

The Latest: This comes on the heels of Libertarian PSC candidate Ryan Graham’s announcement that he’s voting for Democrat Lindy Miller, as well. In announcing her decision, Debbie Dooley notes the recent revelation that Georgia Power allies are pumping $750,000 into the race to protect their investment in a bought-off commissioner. And now it’s up to $1 million. From this morning’s AJC Jolt:  Debbie Dooley, a co-founder of the…
