DeKalb County has plenty of options for early voters: Check them out here

  By Jonathan Grant Georgia has some important runoff elections on January 5, when Georgians across the state choose two U.S. senators. Those races pit Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff against incumbent David Perdue, and in a special election runoff to finish Sen. Johnny Isakson’s unexpired term, Democrat Raphael Warnock faces Republican Kelly Loeffler, who was appointed to the Senate by Gov. Brian Kemp a year ago to replace Isakson. The runoffs are necessary because Georgia law requires a candidate to receive a majority of votes to win election. Also on the ballot: a statewide Public Service Commission runoff between Democrat Daniel Blackman and Republican Incumbent Lauren Bubba McDonald. Early voting is upon us: useful info for DeKalb County voters

There will be twelve advance voting sites in DeKalb County, up from eight in this year’s primary elections. Not only has DeKalb County added capacity, most notably south of Interstate 20, but hours have been extended significantly from previous elections. All twelve locations are open for the entire three weeks of early voting and offer voting on two Saturdays and two Sundays. Early Voting UPDATE: DeKalb drops two advance voting sites, more than a dozen precinct polling stations will be closed June 9

Latest Update  DeKalb scrambles to move 19 polling places in response to Covid-19 pandemic Revised Early Voting Sites and Hours By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Several normal poll locations will be unavailable for the primary, and the situation remains in flux due to the Covid-19 pandemic because the buildings are closed. At Thursday’s DeKalb Board of Elections virtual meeting, Elections Director Erica Hamilton informed board members that 14 precinct poll locations will be unavailable for voting on June 9. More closures are possible. There will be a special called meeting on Friday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. to discuss further possible changes and preparations.
