Georgia sleaze alert: Fran Millar comes out with push poll, lies about Sally Harrell’s record

READ THE LATEST:  PEOPLE POWER VS. CORPORATE CASH: GEORGIA’S HOTTEST SENATE RACE Jonathan Grant @Brambleman on Twitter I’ve known Georgia State Sen. Fran Millar for nearly twenty years, broken bread with him, and I held a certain amount of respect for him, though that has diminished as I watched his slide toward the Trumpism that has consumed the Republican Party. I will not be voting for him in November. Millar has tried to separate himself somewhat from the president, claiming he likes Trump’s policies but not his behavior. That’s a distinction without a difference, since Trump’s behavior and policy are intertwined; both are children of his ego. Look out, Canada! If Millar dislikes Trump’s behavior, he has a funny way of showing…

Sally Harrell Camp: Data shows big upturn in Georgia SD 40 Democratic Voting

Source: Sally Harrell campaign Former State Rep. Sally Harrell won big May 22, receiving 67 percent of the vote in the Democratic Primary for Georgia Senate District 40 (GASD40). She will face GOP incumbent Fran Millar of Dunwoody in the general election on November 6. The campaign is reporting that primary results show a major shift in Democratic voting strength in the district, which is centered in North DeKalb County with some precincts in Gwinnett and Fulton. From a campaign email sent out today: For the first time since Senate 40 was drawn, Democrat primary ballots outnumbered Republican ballots, and it wasn’t even close! The spread was 18 points — 59% to 41%. Looking at these primary results, it’s clear that voters are…

Reps. Oliver, Henson, Holcomb are big supporters of Sally Harrell

Above: Rep. Scott Holcomb, Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver, Sally Harrell #GASD40, Rep. Michele Henson At Monday night’s Henderson Middle School town hall, DeKalb State Reps. Mary Margaret Oliver, Michele Henson, and Scott Holcomb briefed Lakeside area residents about the 2018 General Assembly session and took time to praise a former colleague now running for State Senate. The three Democratic legislators said that the session had produced some notable successes, notably increased school funding. Oliver said that while the Senate had passed divisive legislation, such as the anti-gay adoption bill, House Speaker David Ralston and other leaders had ensured that the legislation died in the House. She also praised Gov. Nathan Deal’s work on criminal justice reform. She expressed hope that Gwinnett voters would…

Pics of the day: Georgia Senate candidate and Resistance leader Sally Harrell

Judy and I hosted a “meet and greet” get-together to introduce Sally Harrell to some of our Northlake neighbors the other evening. It wasn’t a huge event, but it was fun, and our favorite political guy, Rep. Scott Holcomb showed up, too, which made it extra special. Sally is running against an entrenched GOP incumbent, Fran Millar, who’s never faced a serious challenge before. This time is different: Sally has a well-organized, energetic and growing team of volunteers. And Senate District Forty has been changing. It’s now considered Georgia’s most flippable Senate District, which includes much of North DeKalb, some of Sandy Springs in Fulton, and Peachtree Corners in Gwinnett.  Both Hillary Clinton and Jon Ossoff took the district’s precinct with around…

Sally Harrell ad: Latest shot fired in Georgia Senate’s most flippable district

That feeling when you have a solid message and your volunteer team includes television producers: While Sally Harrell faces primary opposition, her campaign will soon report successful fundraising numbers and an army of volunteers is organizing throughout the district. This is an incredibly well-organized, motivated team in the Heart of the Resistance, containing some of the bluest precincts in GA06. Sally has taken on many battle-hardened Ossoff veterans to make up her team, which would rival many Congressional campaigns in size. Well-funded, well-staffed, and supremely motivated. District 40 incumbent Fran Millar has never faced such a formidable opponent during his two decades in the General Assembly. His endorsement of Trump Administration policies and his penchant for impolitic, racially-tinged speech has hurt his brand in a well-educated…
