Update: DeKalb drops two advance voting sites, more than a dozen precinct polling stations will be closed June 9

By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Update May 15: Several normal poll locations will be unavailable for the primary, and the situation remains in flux due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At Thursday’s DeKalb Board of Elections virtual meeting, Elections Director Erica Hamilton informed board members that 14 precinct poll locations will be unavailable for voting on June 9. More closures are possible. There will be a special called meeting on Friday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. to discuss further possible changes and preparations. Early voting will be held at the DeKalb Board of Elections office at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA  30032 and at Stonecrest Library, 2123 Klondike Road, Lithonia, GA 30038 Early voting hours  Thursday, Nov. 21: 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. – Friday, Nov. 27: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekend early voting In Doraville, former council member Joseph Geierman came in first on Nov. 5, with more than 39% of the vote. At least it will next week This has been a low turnout election, so far. The vote totals the DeKalb Board of Elections posted for Saturday are grim.  But hey, we can vote today!  Check out this resource: DeKalb County Voter Guide.
