Early voting is upon us: useful info for DeKalb County voters

There will be twelve advance voting sites in DeKalb County, up from eight in this year’s primary elections. Not only has DeKalb County added capacity, most notably south of Interstate 20, but hours have been extended significantly from previous elections. All twelve locations are open for the entire three weeks of early voting and offer voting on two Saturdays and two Sundays. Georgia Rep. Vernon Jones couldn’t even last until the Democratic Primary. Now he’s speaking at the GOP Convention.

Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Donald Trump-loving State Rep. Vernon Jones is scheduled to speak tonight at the Republican convention. Apparently, he’s the only Georgian to take a microphone. But how much do Republicans know about the man? What do they care? Feel the Vern! MAGA! The timing of Jones’s endorsement of Trump, coming before the Democratic primary, was interesting. What it did was allow him to step onto the GOP stage before the Democratic door hit him on  his way out. And the door was about to slam hard. Although recent media coverage hasn’t mentioned it, Jones faced disqualification from the Democratic Primary ballot. The latest: Briarcliff, Gresham Road, Bouldercrest, North Decatur, Ponce de Leon, Rock Chapel, Scott, and Silver Lake precincts have been added to the list of changes. June 9 voters in 26 precincts will have to cast ballots in 23 new locations. Drop boxes have been installed in Dunwoody and Stone Mountain. Seven in all, now.
