No Problem: Tucker Rec Center CAN be used for Early Voting in #GA06

Update on Early Voting in DeKalb Tucker Rec Center IS Available as #GA06 Early Voting Site   Backround: DeKalb County is considering adding Early Voting sites for the Sixth District runoff. Citizens have called for Tucker Rec Center to be added, along with Chamblee Civic Center.  Current policy only allows one early voting site, at Memorial Drive, several miles outside the district.  While it may not be the intent, the effect was voter suppression. Using Tucker would open up Early Voting to tens of thousands of people in the Southeast section of the Sixth. The Board is waiting until its May 11 meeting to to decide. Early voting starts May 30. No guarantees. There was a signal from the board that a…

We Nee Additional #GA06 Early Voting Sites in DeKalb

Contact: Sally Harrell sally@sallyharrell.org Twitter: @sallyharrellga We need to adequately serve 100,000 DeKalb Sixth District early voters in the June 20 runoff. We can do this by enacting the following changes: • Open Chamblee Civic Center EV Location May 30 • Open Tucker Rec Center EV Location May 30 • Open Dunwoody Library EV Location • Keep polls open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. • Keep EV Locations open Saturdays Problems and Solutions • Many voters will be on vacation June 20 and will need to vote in advance. • The Memorial Drive office is an inadequate EV site for the 6th. Needed: sign-waving Ossoff volunteers in DeKalb Mon, Tues

Dear Ossoff Volunteers: Let’s do one last thing to Flip the Sixth! We need people to work the street in the southeast corner of #GA06 District Monday, April 17 and Tuesday, April 18. Why? Because this is the Bluest section of #GA06.                       Source: NY Times (@Nate_Cohn) And because the area east of I-85severely undervoted in Early Voting becausethere was no convenient polling place. Tucker Rec Center never opened for EV. Sad! Source: NY Times (@Nate_Cohn) We need to do everything we can to get out the vote in addition to canvassing, so I’m working to coordinate precinct-level street corner sign wavers Monday and Tuesday in these precincts: Midvale Road Midvale Elementary…

An Evening with Jon Ossoff

Judy and I met Jon Ossoff this evening at a Meet and Greet in the Northlake area of DeKalb County. The Washington Post sent a photographer as well, but we’ll have to wait and see how well his photos of me turned out. Jon is the front runner in the special election to replace Tom Price. He’s an impressive candidate with a positive message that should resonate in Georgia’s Sixth District. He is nothing like the person the GOP SuperPac hate ads depict. We’re both impressed. I’ve volunteered to put up yard signs for him—if they’d only quit running out of signs! BTW, if you live in DeKalb County or North Fulton, the Ossoff campaign is holding street rallies tomorrow (Saturday, April…
