By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Monday’s debate among top-tier candidates in Georgia’s special Senate election to fill out Johnny Isakson’s term was illuminating. Not because new light was shed on candidates’ positions. No, none of that. But we did see character and personalities, and how the participants tried to claim their niches in the political ecosystem. Of course, the top two Republicans seek to occupy the same niche, as steadfast Trumpists. The other big reveal is that Matt Lieberman (also a horrible candidate) not only isn’t trying to run as a Democrat, but holds the party in contempt. You can watch the debate here. Six candidates were on the virtual stage. Republicans Sen. Kelly Loeffler and U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, Democrats Raphael Warnock,…

In Georgia Senate Race, Raphael Warnock is up and Matt Lieberman is down
Above: Rev. Raphael Warnock returns to his Savannah roots in new television ad Warnock looks to break from pack with ad campaign By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Progressives worrying about Georgia Senate candidate Raphael Warnock’s absence from the airwaves can relax. His first ad, “Grew Up,” went up today, and like his original announcement video, it highlights his humble beginnings in Savannah’s Kayton Homes and rise to prominence in the pulpit of Atlanta’s famed Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. and his father both served as pastors. Among Democrats in the crowded field to fill out the remainder of Johnny Isakson’s term, Warnock has a big fundraising advantages and has received endorsements from prominent Dems, including former gubernatorial candidate Stacey…
Teresa Tomlinson vs. David Perdue and the Easter Death Cult
By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Last week, I interviewed former Columbus mayor Teresa Tomlinson, a Democrat running in the May 19 primary for a shot at unseating Republican incumbent David Perdue–or in her words, “send Perdue packing.” Tomlinson talked about problems and fixes, most notably expanding Medicaid. With experience both as an attorney and elected official, Tomlinson takes law and government seriously. She often discuses the Constitution and the role of government in people’s lives. Even before she was a Senate candidate, she spoke out on impeachment issues. She’s posted 14 policy papers on her website. Her major Democratic opponents, Sarah Riggs Amico and Jon Ossoff, have not troubled themselves with such details. It’s like she’s actually willing to prove her case that she’s…

Her dog won’t hunt: Doug Collins fires back at Kelly Loeffler’s Poser ad
Above: No animals were harmed during the filming of this ad Note: Scroll down to see Loeffler’s original tweet and Collins’ response. Here’s the latest on feud from AJC. update coverage By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Kelly Loeffler, Georgia’s selected U.S. senator, is all about #MAGA. She was appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp to go up to Washington D.C. and … do what she was told, apparently. Unlike Rep. Doug Collins, who is running against her, she is genuinely inauthentic. Collins is as authentic as hell, and will get in your face about it. He sports a Deliverance vibe, which is fitting, since Georgia’s 9th District is Deliverance country. Loeffler’s home turf is the New York Stock Exchange, which her husband runs. Culture…
Poser or Poacher? Sen. Kelly Loeffler parades around in ad with a gun, but there’s a problem with that

Kemp supposedly picked Loeffler to appeal to suburban women who are turned off by Donald Trump for reasons that…
