Publicizing political smears should be beneath the dignity of a professional law enforcement agency  By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman I wouldn’t be writing this post if the Newnan Police Department hadn’t decided for some reason to publicize the “event” depicted above: “Book Burning Event, sponsored by Democrats for Social Change, ANTIFA, and B.L.M. Philosophy, history, poetry, theology, etc. all will burn this Saturday, 6 p.m. at the courthouse. BYOB.”  Poetry? A moment’s scrutiny should have told the Coweta city’s finest that this was an act of malicious mischief. And the odds it was the work of a right-wing troll are approximately 100 percent. New day in deep-red Georgia? Hundreds protest in Peachtree City, Democrat Jill Prouty calls out MAGA candidates who “fail on social justice”

By Jonathan Grant @Brambleman Jill Prouty stepped outside the library she manages in Peachtree City on Tuesday, June 2, and observed a wondrous sight: Hundreds of people kneeling on the lawn of the City Hall complex. In the land of golf carts, they had marched to protest police brutality and racial injustice. Peachtree City Police Chief Janet Moon walked with them. It was as peaceful as peaceful could be. Only 4,346 ballots were cast in the House District 71 special election runoff in eastern Coweta County and a small section of Peachtree City in Fayette. In Peachtree City, Singleton took 110 of only 167 votes cast. Sakrison started strong and faded early Sakrison, an educator and daughter of former Republican U.S. Rep.
